Tales of the Unexpected
In "the Party" (1980) starring Robert Morley and Joyce
Redman, Robert Morley plays the disgruntled senior manager of
a company that makes toys. Suspecting that the management want
to push him out, he stumbles across a hall that has been prepared
for a party. As no one told him about any party, he suspects they've
kept him in the dark because they want to fire him. The party
it turns out, was a surprise to honour his forty years with the
company. Unfortunately, he only finds out after he has set fire
to the hall!
