Heaven help us if China ever becomes a superpower

There is a great article in the Observer by Nick Cohen on Bernard Kouchner, France's radical new Foreign Minister. He represents a huge opportunity for France to take a lead in foreign affairs, particularly in relation to the tragedy that is Darfur.

Nick Cohen also has a lot to say about China and its odious foreign policy. With China continuing to prop up the Sudanese regime, many are referring to the forthcoming 2008 games in Beijing as the "Genocide Olympics". Heaven help us if China ever becomes a superpower. Mark Steyn once said that "China will grow old before it gets rich". I only hope he's right.
